The 2019 Château Coutet is a high-quality sweet wine from the renowned Barsac appellation, Grand Cru Classé. With an intense golden hue, it has a complex and refined bouquet on the nose with hints of honey, exotic fruit such as pineapple and mango, apricot, white flowers, vanilla and spicy hints of ginger. In the mouth it stands out for a balance between sweetness and acidity, with a good vibrant acidity that balances the sugar richness, enhanced by an 18-month aging in French oak barrels. The 2019 harvest, characterized by a hot and dry climate with balanced rainfall, obtained perfectly ripe and golden grapes, giving the wine aromatic intensity and flavor depth.

A luminous emblem of the Barsac appellation, Château Coutet has embodied the nobility and excellence of the great sweet wines of Bordeaux for more than four centuries. Founded in the thirteenth century as an English fortification and transformed into a wine estate in 1643, Coutet is one of the oldest châteaux in the Sauternes-Barsac region. Its name, which derives from the Gascon term “coutet”, or “knife”, evokes the marked freshness and precision that defines the style of the estate. Immersed in a landscape of rare elegance, between woods, meadows and waterways, Château Coutet benefits from a unique microclimate, perfect for the development of the precious botrytis cinerea.
