Les Forts de Latour 2017 is the second wine from the prestigious Château Latour, located in Pauillac, in the Bordeaux region. Composed of a blend of 65.2% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot, 1% Petit Verdot and 0.8% Cabernet Franc, the grapes come from vineyards selected with the same care dedicated to Grand Vin. Vinification takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, followed by aging in French oak barrels for about 18 months. Intense aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry and dried rose petals are perceived on the nose, with nuances of graphite and undergrowth. In the mouth it is medium-bodied, with fine tannins and good vibrant acidity, offering layers of berries and a long, fragrant finish. Les Forts de Latour, introduced in 1966, is now considered an example of the highest quality in the panorama of second wines from Bordeaux.
