Nervi-Conterno’s Gattinara “Vigna Valferana” 2019 is a refined cru of Gattinara obtained with Nebbiolo grapes grown in the vineyard of the same name at about 400 m above sea level, on the property of the historic Nervi winery at the foot of Monte Rosa, founded in 1906 and acquired in 2018 by Roberto Conterno. Vinification takes place in concrete tanks, followed by aging for at least 48 months in oak barrels and a further 6 months in concrete. The olfactory bouquet is rich, with hints of red fruits, undergrowth, mountain herbs and spices. In the mouth it reveals great intensity and elegance, with soft tannins and a fresh minerality.
