Biondi Santi’s Brunello di Montalcino Riserva “Il Greppo” 2015 is a Tuscan red wine of great prestige, obtained exclusively in exceptional vintages. Made with Sangiovese Grosso grapes selected by hand from the company’s own vineyards, including the oldest, rooted in soils rich in skeleton and marl. Fermentation takes place in wooden vats without the addition of selected yeasts. The wine matures for at least 36 months in Slavonian oak barrels, followed by prolonged aging in the bottle. The nose opens with a complex bouquet of ripe red fruit, sweet spices, balsamic hints and nuances of tobacco. In the mouth it is powerful and harmonious, with robust but well-integrated tannins, balanced by lively acidity and a long, enveloping finish.
