Gaja, Barolo Conteisa 2014, Bottle 750 ml
The Barolo Conteisa is obtained from the renowned Gaja winery, born in the Cerequio cru, located between the municipalities of La Morra and Barolo, in Piedmont. The name “Conteisa” derives from the historical dispute for the possession of these lands. Made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes, the wine ferments in stainless steel, with subsequent malolactic fermentation. Aging includes 12 months in semi-new barriques and a further 12 months in large oak barrels. To the eye, it has an intense garnet red hue. On the nose, aromas of ripe red fruit, sweet spices and floral hints emerge. In the mouth, it is powerful and structured, with soft tannins and a finish of good persistence. A Barolo of great elegance, perfect to accompany red meats, game and aged cheeses.
