Giacomo Conterno, Barolo Francia 2020, Magnum 1500 ml

This Barolo comes from the Francia vineyard, located in Serralunga d’Alba in the Langhe, Piedmont. The 100% Nebbiolo grapes are grown following sustainable practices and harvested by hand in mid-October. Vinification involves a fermentation of 30-40 days in truncated conical vats of untoasted Austrian wood, followed by a complete malolactic fermentation. Aging takes place in oak barrels for about 48 months, giving the wine elegance and depth. In the glass, it shows a pale garnet red hue with ruby hues and beautiful transparency. On the nose, it releases a complex and refined bouquet, with hints of ripe red fruit, spices, licorice and tobacco. In the mouth, it is powerful and structured, with silky tannins and a finish of good persistence.
