Krug, Grande Cuvée 166ème Édition Brut, Bottle 750 ml
The Krug Grande Cuvée 166ème Édition is the most representative expression of the House of Krug, created from the 2010 harvest and blended with 140 wines from 13 different vintages, the oldest dating back to 1998. This complex blend includes Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier, from several selected vineyards. Vinification takes place in small oak barrels, followed by aging on the lees for about 7 years. To the eye, it has a bright golden hue and a fine perlage with good persistence. On the nose, it expresses a rich and complex bouquet, with hints of flowers, ripe fruit, marzipan, ginger and citrus fruits. In the mouth, it is generous and structured, with a creamy texture, good lively acidity and flavors of hazelnut, nougat, barley sugar, fruit jelly and citrus, culminating in a long and harmonious finish. This Champagne is extremely versatile in food pairings, excellently accompanying dishes such as oysters, grilled shrimp, lightly spiced Indian or Moroccan dishes, as well as desserts based on carrots, spices or citrus fruits.
