Chavy-Chouet, Meursault Blanc Clos des Corvées de Citeau Monopole 2021, Magnum 1500 ml
The Meursault Blanc Clos des Corvées de Citeau Monopole 2021, the work of Domaine Chavy-Chouet, proves to be a white wine of exquisite refinement, originating from the center of the village of Meursault, in Burgundy. This vineyard plot, owned exclusively by the Chavy-Chouet family since 1893, is distinguished by a fertile soil, abundant in clay and limestone, which gives the wine a considerable fullness and sumptuousness. The vines, with an average age of 65 years, benefit from a peculiar climatic environment, generated by the imposing walls that surround the vineyard, promoting an early ripening of the Chardonnay grapes. Wine production includes fermentation in stainless steel vessels, at a controlled temperature, followed by a maturation period of 12 months in French Allier oak barrels, 90% of which are new. In the glass, the wine sports a bright golden yellow hue. On the nose, it releases an articulated aroma, with hints of yellow-fleshed fruit, candied citrus, butter and subtle toasted nuances. On the palate, it is generous and concentrated, with a velvety texture, balanced by a vibrant liveliness and a prolonged finish.
