Taurasi Vigna Macchia dei Goti 2020 – Antonio Caggiano A symbol of Irpinia power, this Taurasi is a highly structured red wine obtained from pure Aglianico. The vineyards, located at 350 meters above sea level, offer selected and hand-picked grapes. After pressing, the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation and matures slowly: 18 months in French oak barrels followed by a year of aging in the bottle. It is dressed in a deep ruby, anticipating a complex nose of wild berries, licorice and vanilla. The palate is warm and vigorous, with a well-polished tannic texture and a persistence that makes it an ideal companion for game, red meats and aged cheeses.
