Aglianico del Vulture Il Sigillo 2016 from Cantine del Notaio is a red wine of considerable intensity, produced in Basilicata. Made entirely with Aglianico del Vulture grapes, the harvest takes place between the end of November and the beginning of December. Vinification involves maceration for about 30 days and fermentation in steel. The wine matures for at least 24 months in French oak barrels and tonneaux, located in natural volcanic tuff caves, followed by a further 12 months of bottle aging. In the glass, it shows an intense ruby red color with garnet reflections; Hints of berry jam, chocolate, black pepper, dried violet, carob, tobacco, cinnamon, powder, mace, leather, licorice, vanilla and menthol emerge on the nose. On the palate it is savory, fresh, full and elegant, with notes of plum, black cherry and blackberry; The finish is long and aromatic, with hints of licorice and dark chocolate.
