Strong, majestic and perfectly rooted in the heart of the Médoc, Château Montrose is one of the greatest and most charismatic protagonists of Saint-Estèphe. Its history begins relatively late, in 1815, when Étienne Théodore Dumoulin, struck by the uniqueness of a gravelly hill overlooking the Gironde estuary, decided to plant his vineyard there. In just a few decades, the extraordinary quality of its wines earned the domaine the prestigious classification as Deuxième Grand Cru Classé in the historic classification of 1855. The production philosophy is based on a rigorous respect for nature, with sustainable agronomic practices, geothermal energy and harvests carried out manually with almost surgical precision.
