The 2020 Château Mouton Rothschild is a prestigious red wine obtained in the Pauillac appellation, in the Bordeaux region. Classified as Premier Grand Cru Classé, it is obtained from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and a small percentage of Cabernet Franc, from vineyards located on gravelly soils typical of the area. The harvest is manual, with a rigorous selection of the bunches. Fermentation takes place in oak vats, followed by aging in new barriques for about 18-20 months. The wine has an intense ruby red hue. On the nose, it expresses a complex bouquet of ripe black fruits, such as currant and blackberry, accompanied by hints of cedar, tobacco, sweet spices and a touch of graphite. In the mouth, it is powerful and refined, with silky tannins and a balanced structure. The finish is long and with good persistence, with hints of dark chocolate and licorice. This wine has excellent aging potential, promising to evolve beautifully in the coming decades.
