Chavy-Chouet, Meursault Blanc Clos des Corvées de Citeau Monopole 2021, Double magnum 3000 ml
The “Clos des Corvées de Citeau” is an exclusive vineyard of the Domaine Chavy-Chouet, nestled in the center of the village of Meursault. This plot, which once belonged to the Cistercian monks, is bordered by imposing walls that generate a particular climatic environment, promoting a uniform and early ripening of the Chardonnay grapes. The soil, composed of clay and limestone, gives the wine remarkable opulence and thickness, while aging lasts for a year in French oak barrels, with about 90% new wood, in order to accentuate the olfactory complexity without obscuring the genuineness of the fruit. In the glass, it manifests itself with a bright straw yellow hue. On the nose, it reveals a distinct and marked character, with hints of white fruit, citrus, freshly harvested almond and subtle toasted hints of hazelnut and butter. On the palate, it is vigorous and refined, characterized by a lively freshness and a velvety texture that harmonizes beautifully with the mineral component. The aftertaste is prolonged and persistent, with a balanced development and an extraordinary delicacy, which consecrate it as one of Meursault’s most excellent interpretations.
