Elio Grasso’s Barolo “Gavarini Chiniera” 2020 is a red wine obtained in Monforte d’Alba, in the Piedmontese Langhe. The Nebbiolo grapes come from the Gavarini vineyard, located at an altitude of 350-400 meters above sea level, with south-east exposure and calcareous soils. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature, with daily pumping over, followed by malolactic fermentation. Aging takes place in 25-hectoliter Slavonian oak barrels for 24 months, followed by a rest in the bottle for 8-10 months. The nose expresses elegant aromas of ripe red fruit, flowers, spices and balsamic hints. in the mouth it is harmonious, with fine tannins and a remarkable persistence.
