Giacomo Conterno, Barbera d’Alba Vigna Francia 2020, Magnum 1500 ml

Obtained in the Langhe, Piedmont, this Barbera d’Alba comes from the Francia vineyard, known for its excellent exposure and soil composition. Obtained from 100% Barbera grapes, the harvest is manual with a careful selection of the bunches. Vinification involves fermentation in steel tanks, followed by aging in large oak barrels, which gives the wine balance and complexity. In the glass, it has an intense ruby red hue. On the nose, it expresses aromas of ripe red fruit, such as cherry and plum, with spicy hints and a hint of vanilla. In the mouth, it is full and enveloping, with a lively acidity typical of the grape variety, soft tannins and a long and harmonious finish. Ideal in combination with pasta dishes with rich sauces, red meats and medium-aged cheeses.
