Giacomo Conterno’s Barolo Cerretta 2017 is a wine of great complexity and structure, made with Nebbiolo grapes from the prestigious Cerretta vineyard. It has an intense garnet hue. On the nose, it expresses a rich and varied bouquet with hints of red fruit, tobacco, aromatic herbs, tar and leather. In the mouth, it is full and austere, with dense, ripe tannins, bright acidity and a long, flavorful finish. Vinification involves fermentation in conical oak barrels and aging in large Austrian Stockinger oak barrels for at least two years
