Comtesse de Chérisey, Meursault-Blagny La Genelotte Monopole 1er Cru 2019, Bottle 750 ml

The Meursault-Blagny Premier Cru “La Genelotte” 2019 from Domaine Comtesse de Chérisey is a Chardonnay from the climat “La Genelotte”, a monopole located in the village of Blagny, between Meursault and Puligny-Montrachet in the Côte de Beaune, Burgundy. This vineyard, owned exclusively by the Martelet family since 1811, is cultivated according to certified organic principles, with particular attention to biodiversity and the balance of the ecosystem. The vines, planted between 1946 and 1955, have their roots in soils composed of clay and limestone, benefiting from a unique microclimate that gives the wine a remarkable good acidity and complexity. The vinification involves fermentation on indigenous yeasts and aging in French oak barrels, produced with wood from the forests owned by the domain, for a period of about 12 months. On the nose, the wine reveals aromas of white peach, Comice pear and floral hints of violet and honeysuckle, accompanied by mineral nuances and hints of sweet spices such as cinnamon and vanilla. In the mouth, it expresses a refined and vertical structure, with a lively acidity that balances the richness of the fruit, expressing flavors of apricot, green apple and citrus, supported by a marked minerality and a long persistence.
