Louis Roederer, Cristal Brut 2005, Bottle 750 ml

This prestigious Champagne is born from a blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from Grand Cru vineyards in the Montagne de Reims, Vallée de la Marne and Côte des Blancs. Vinification involves partial fermentation in oak barrels with weekly bâtonnage and aging on the lees for about 5 years, followed by 8 months of rest after disgorgement. Cristal 2005 has a bright gold hue and expresses aromas of white-fleshed fruit, citrus fruits, honey and hints of pastry on the nose. In the mouth it is broad, soft and vinous, with a delicate effervescence that lengthens the finish in a pure and slender way, expressing elegance and complexity.
