The “Cristal” 2015 is the most famous Champagne of the Maison Louis Roederer, founded in 1776 in Reims, in the Champagne region. First created in 1876 for Tsar Alexander II, “Cristal” is only obtained in exceptional vintages. It is composed of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay, with grapes coming exclusively from Grand Cru vineyards. Vinification takes place partly in oak foudre, with aging on the lees for about 6 years and resting in the bottle for at least 8 months after disgorgement. It has a bright golden yellow hue and a very fine perlage. The nose reveals a complex bouquet of candied citrus fruits, apricot, toasted hazelnut and mineral hints. In the mouth it is ample and silky, with a refined structure, vibrant acidity and extraordinary persistence. The “Cristal” 2015 is an iconic Champagne, a symbol of elegance and prestige.
